Plane Crash Off Fort Lauderdale

Comments Off

Last weekend was a sad weekend for the families of five men who were killed in a plane crash 17 miles off shore from Fort Lauderdale.

After taking off at 8:57 a.m. on Saturday, the 1965 Piper Aztec leveled off at 4,500 feet. It was immediately engulfed in stormy conditions and flew into the area of a “level 4″ thunderstorm, likely containing severe turbulence, the report said. In little more than a minute, the six-seat plane descended 200 feet, climbed 800 feet and descended 300 feet, according to the report.
